S-R-HEd (pronounced S-R-Head), is a social enterprise established in 2023 to provide evidence-based, culturally sensitive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education and support to young people and women from religiously conservative (particularly Muslim) communities.
S-R-HEd is the brainchild of Dr. Muti’ah Badru MRCOG, Muslimah writer and reproductive health doctor with over 20 years of clinical experience. S-R-HEd has been featured in the BBC World Service Heart and Soul Program, was a winner of the UEA Engagement Awards and was a Finalist in the UEA Changemakers Program in 2024.
During her years in sexual and reproductive health, both as a doctor and as a member of the Muslim communities in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and the UK, Dr Muti’ah noted a great dearth of knowledge amongst Muslims about basic SRH information. The resultant effects of that lack – from a susceptibility to sexual assault to increasing issues of marital dissatisfaction – is worsened by the sense of inaccessibility that Muslims face when they try to engage in existing SRH spaces.

At S-R-HEd we engage communities directly with our educational products, targeting individuals and couples with the information needed to make the best choices for their sexual and reproductive health. We have impacted over 200 people and have a 100% satisfactory review from our clients. To work with us, reach us via the button below.
